Where is Miss Havisham's House in Great Expectations?

The exterior of Miss Havisham's home, Satis House, in the BBC's 2011 adaptation of Great Expectations is Holdenby House , near Northampton.

The BBC props department spent 4 days preparing the exterior of the house, courtyard and driveway to become the iconic house that forms the backdrop to this classic story.

The transformation of the original building included the use of  80 tons of mud, weeds and creepers up the drive to turn the outside of Holdenby into the decaying 'Satis House' shown in the adaptation.
